Because this book was prescribed in a similar course previously, I recommended this as a text along with Stair & Reynolds (ISBN 076001079X) - students could use either, references to both were used in the course. While I thought both were quite reasonable texts (otherwise I would not have recommended them) the first year university students were quite critical of Lauden & Lauden in comparison with the other text (about which I received no complaints).
