This may not be THE book on Bali, but it seems to be the best book still in print... It covers all things balinese and more. It covers more than just the tourist stuff and talks about music, art, religion and the islands people. One of the best parts of the book is about the photographers mobile studio, which shows great photos of dancers and musicians. The book is from 1987, but does not seem dated. What I missed from the book was something on Balis wildlife, but the book "Tanah Air" is awesome ... Read More
