Rating: - Differential Equations for Dummies!
I would give this book a 5/5. It made Diff EQ much easier to understand and was a great supplement to the text book.
Rating: - Not the best
I picked up the book out of personal interest, not that I need it for anything. I'm a math dummy, the sort of person the book is designed for. I can handle calculus well enough (self-taught), but I'm no expert.
The book started off well enough until I hit the integrating factor technique. He lost me almost immediately, and it was like he left out some steps. I think someone very solid in calculus would have caught on, but I'm a dummy. So, I checked out Paul's Online Math Notes (http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu) ... Read More
Rating: - An Author that Truly Understands Keeping It Simple
Steven Holzner can truly make differential equations understood on a basic level. The author has an ability to keep you interested by keeeping the text light and easy to comprehend. He seems to understand what gives the typical student of diff-e-q difficulties and show a clean path right through these areas. Great book with simple answers to some of my past misunderstood solutions in differential equations.
