This book is a great resource for understanding the terminology and building process for constructing a more energy efficient home. I liked that Mascord expresses in the book that the idea of "going green" doesn't mean that we have to give up all of our comforts, but that we can all participate by taking small steps to improve our efficient living quotient.

We purchased this book because we are building our first home and wanted to incorporate "Green" building, but didn't know where to start. This book gave us a clear understanding of the process without overloading my wife and I with too much minutae and helped us make informed choices when it came to all the aspects of building our home "green".

This book lays out the information on green building (and living green) in an easy to read and easy to understand format. What caught my eye on this book was the foreword by Sarah Susanka, I enjoyed her books like "The Not So Big House" and "Home By Design" a great deal so I have a lot of respect for her work and opinion.
