Editorial Review:
Product DescriptionWilliam Randolf Hearst, the powerful newspaper magnate, was portrayed in Citizen Kane, an Orson Welles Film. Hearst's reaction upon learning about the film was to work to destroy Welles and supress the film. Pressured by Hearst, major movie chains refused to carry Citizen Kane and Welles' greatest masterpiece virtually disappeared from almost 25 years. Never again would Orson Welles gain control of a major Hollywood production. This video is produced by Thomas Lennon and Michael Epstein, 1996.
