This is an excellent book, as are all the Dietel & Dietel books. The authors have consistently written excellent texts. The Snippets called: "Software and Engineering Observation" and "Common Programming Error" are invaluable references in of themselves!

If you want to learn C# painlessly, read this book. After reading tis book, I not only could write C# programs, but understood the .Net framework better.
This book is packed with solid information on the C# language and the .Net framework, but the Author's writing style is so easy-going, it wasn't difficult for my brain to absorb.
The Author explains all aspects of the C# language clearly and precisely, and give lots of good real world examples that can be used for future reference. Once you finish this book, you will have a solid foundation for your .Net future!!.

Rating: - Great Book to learn C# and .NET
The best part about this book and the author's other book Visual Basic .NET How to Program, is that the index is similar. (This is true for most of their books.). What this means is that you can learn VB & C# in parallel.
Their handling of the material is just great. The author explains the concepts in such a clear manner.
There are many tips on Software Engineering, performance, etc.
These books will not only teach you .NET, you will learn How to Program in these languages, learn software engineering principles.
The money spent on these books is really worth it.

I call it the Mercedez Benz of "How to" books! If you want to learn how to program.., this is a thouroughly wonderful book to learn from. I've bought and returned so many books.., but this one is a keeper. NUFF SAID!
