Rating: - You need this book
I have purchased a lot of programming books and even a computer based training package in the last few years. None of them covered the concepts of programming as well as this book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is a novice programmer who wants to learn C# as well as a good foundation of programming skills.
Rating: - Too much garbage
I have C++ How to Program, first 6 chapter I guess two books are very identical. For introduction to OOP, maybe author should write a new book, like OOP How to Program, but not for all How to Program book.
Lot of example are very identical, i guess they just convert C++ or whatever to C# How to Program
Rating: - The book has its pluses but then comes the minuses
The book started out nicely, explaining things step-by-step. Then around chapter 6 it starts throwing out pages of code with little explanation. I had liked the way it referenced visual studio to the code. Around chapter 6 it references visual studio sparingly and I found it hard to create the programs using visual studio cause they left out steps. The book has lots of good tips on commenting code, I felt they should apply it to commenting the text material better.
Rating: - Good door stop
This book makes a good door stop. As for the coverage of C#, I wonder if the authors really know C# well enough to write a book ...
Rating: - PLEASE DON'T BUY IT,IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER
This book made me hate "how to understand programming" because i'm a beginner and i need to begin with easy code"Not complete programs that i don't know how to develop and understand it :(", This book is perfect 100% for intermediate programmers that know C++ or Java i think. I agree with other review that talk about WROX books, and i'm waiting for more books from WROX.
