Books Definitive XML Schema (Charles F. Goldfarb Definitive XML Series)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great book
This book is a very clear, thorough treatment of XML Schema. I was very pleased to find that such a book exists after struggling with the specification. I think the author gave a lot of thought to good schema (and document) design and incorporated her ideas throughout the book. So, I felt that I was getting not just technical information but also advice from an experienced consultant.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Clear description of XML Schema
This is a very readable description of the XML Schema with rudimentary, albeit useful, design hints. Although covers mostly the same information as the official 'XML Schema Part 0: Primer' (freely available from W3C) it is definitely worth reading and keeping as a reference.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It is so clear now!
This is the clearest explanation I've ever read of XML Schema!

The other books I have about XML Schema have succeed in only turning my head to mush. Not to mention trying to read the W3C Standard definitions.
It is too bad that this book isn't *the* standard definition and I wouldn't have wasted my time trying to read the W3C site.

This book has a non-obvious plus...It uses a large type font.
Thanks!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best XML Schema book from a member of the W3C 's Schema WG
I have a standing order with Amazon for any XML Schema related books and to date this is the best I have read. I have chosen to use this book as the text for an upcoming University level XML Schema Course I am designing. The author has a very understandable writing style and presents the complicated materials in a clear and concise manner.

The author is an active member of the W3C's XML Schema Working Group and is very active on both the XML-DEV and SCHEMA-DEV mailing lists. She has taken time to answer many questions from Schema Designers and Implementers and I don't know many people who can match her knowledge in the subject area.

If you are looking for a book that is understandable and has many legal and illegal example to learn from this is the book for you. The author has also provided some online augmentation to the book that I find very useful. You are also going to get information from one of the designers of the XML Schema Recommendations. You can't ask for more

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wonderfully written
Priscilla has done a tremendous job on this book. If only she had written the W3C spec herself! I guess the old adage about too many cooks rings true when it comes to the spec.

Highly recommended!
